Mission Statement

Coins for Kids exists to help provide Christmas for needy children in the local area who otherwise would go without presents at Christmas time.

History

Coins for Kids began in 1990 by a small group of Kony employees who saw a need to provide Christmas to a small population of needy Children in Washington County. That first year, the Coins for Kids volunteers raised about $2,500.00 and helped about 10 families provide Christmas toys to their children. In 2005 the program had grown dramatically in comparison with the first year, and Coins for Kids raised more than $100,000.00 and provided Christmas toys for over 2600 children in over 800 families. This was made possible by corporate sponsors, generous individuals, Church and School groups, Service Organizations, and a whole host of volunteers who make this program so successful.

In 1999 Coins for Kids received the Helping Hands Corporate Volunteer Program of the Year award from the State of Utah for its commendable volunteer efforts in the community.

As the population in Washington County continues to grow, Coins for Kids will continue to grow and will depend on both the financial and volunteer support that it has received since its beginnings from this great community.
