If you wish to help with shopping, you do not need to sign up ahead of time or
make any prior arrangements. Just plan on showing up and helping out. We
will need hundreds of shoppers (young kids can help mom and dads). We will have
coordinators on hand to explain the shopping process and answer any questions
you may have. You will get a clipboard and a family to shop for. Please plan to
shop for several families if possible..
This year we will be shopping at the Super WalMart in
Bloomington from 6pm until we are done!. You may show up any time
after 6pm and stay as long as you want.
SHOPPING INSTRUCTIONS
We will be shopping ONLY for children up to the age of 17. If you have a child older than 17, please contact one of the Coins for Kids volunteers ina red shirt for instructions.
Please shop for only 1 family at a time.
Try to select the child’s special needs or wishes first. For each item
selected, write the child’s name and family number on a label and attach to
each item ( DO NOT COVER THE BAR CODE) . On the
shopping sheet that you are given, please write on the sheet a short
description of the items you selected for that child as well as the price. This
is also a good way to keep track of the money you spend.
Please do not spend the entire allotted amount on one item, it is much more
fun for the children to have more than one gift to open.
If you can’t find the requested item or you are not sure what the requested
item is, please just purchase something age and size appropriate.
Please do not combine more than one family per cart.
Please do not purchase bicycles, car seats, batteries, electronic items that
exceed the allotted amount.
Please don’t purchase any perishable items or candy, each child will receive a
gift bag with candy and an orange.
If you are unable to complete shopping for your family, please turn your
shopping cart in to one of the Coins for Kids Volunteers (in the red t-shirts).
When you have finished shopping, please take your cart to the designated Coins
for Kids check stand, get another family list and ENJOY !!!!
