Starting in 2007, Coins For Kids is partnering with civic organizations
throughout Washington County to identify families in need. Applications for
assistance for children this year wil be accepted only with a written and
signed recommendation from the school counselors where the
children attend, your clergy leader, or from any of the several participating
social service agencies (Click
here for a full list of Qualiying Organizations). Birth Certificates for each child are also required. The applicant then
returns the recommendation with the Birth Certificates to the application center at St. George Leisure
Services Administration Building at 86 South Main (downstairs). (Click

Applicants must have the following to apply for assistance:
- Photo ID and proof of residency in Washington County. If the ID does not show your current address, you will need to show proof of residency such as a Utility Bill, Insurance Bill, or Bank Statement.
- Children's Birth Certificates of each child showing linkage to parents.
- Court Documents if child is in the custody of someone other than a parent.
- Letter from referring organization.

2011 Families Helping Families Information
Members of the community are pleased to reach out to needy children this holiday
season. By completing an application, your child(ren) might receive assistance
from one of the local sponsors’ programs. Please note that this Christmas
program is dependent upon charitable contributions, and we cannot guarantee
applicants (or families) will receive assistance. You will be required to
provide a Utah State picture identification & verification of need in order
for you to apply for assistance. (Verification of need will be provided to the
applicant by the Civic Organization sponsoring the application)
If you have received gifts for 3 years or more, you will not be included
this year.
Your application will be given to one of the participating organizations. Do
not apply anywhere else, as duplicate applications will eliminate your family
from all programs. Only one application per family will be accepted. However,
to receive a food basket you must apply in person at Dixie Care & Share,
131 North 300 West, St. George.
Gifts will vary depending on the organization to which your application is
given. Some will provide mostly toys or clothes, or both. Because we depend on
community support, some people may receive different amounts and types of
items. Our budget is limited and we will not be able to provide computers,
roller blades, stereos, electronic games and other expensive items for
children. Please keep this in mind when filling out your children’s special
wants and needs. Gifts may be exchanged for size, color, etc. but
may not be redeemed for cash.
Deliveries of the gifts will be made only to the home where the children
reside! You & your children are required to be at home or gifts will not be
delivered (Click here to visit our event calendar for
dates and times that the gifts will be delivered... )! There will be no
repeat deliveries this year due to volume of deliveries. If you
move before December 10 th, please call 656-6404 and leave a message giving new
address or gifts will not be delivered.
